The Easter bunny lays some reels…

It looks like it’s going to be another one of those years that flys past before you even get to finish off the Christmas leftovers. I cannot believe it’s already Easter!

This Easter sees us heading off to Noosa again…. yes I know… AGAIN! But seriously though, can you blame us? It’s perfect all year round, the trip offers something different every time, and it’s not far up the coast from where we live.

If you have been following our musings, you would be aware of our recent trip to Noosa, where I stated that we like to try different accommodation each time we visit. Keeping partially true to my word, this trip sees us staying at the Colonial Resort Noosa; luxury 4.5 star apartments perfectly situated right on the Noosa River in amongst the Gympie Terrace cafe society.

Now, the reason that I said ‘partially true to my word’ is because we have stayed here once before, about 8 years ago. Back then we had great memories of spacious apartments positioned around a beautiful heated pool, nestled by dense tropical rainforest styled gardens. Clean, well equipped, and perfect for a long break away from the daily grind. I recall we enjoyed it so much that we had agreed to visit sometime in the future to see how the apartments have fared. Well, it hasn’t changed one bit and I’m really happy to say the apartments are exactly as we remember…. large, spacious, clean, and luxurious.

This Easter, Gaenor and I decided we would have a chat to the Easter bunny and let him know that the kids are getting a bit older now, and eggs alone were not going to cut it. The Easter bunny agreed and said he would do something a little bit different this year, something he knew my boys would actually love.

So Easter comes along, and you wouldn’t believe it, the Easter bunny laid some brand new reels for the kids!

To say they were excited would be an understatement, which is great news for the Easter bunny as I’m sure laying two new Shimano reels would not have been an easy or enjoyable task. ;)

Cheese packed… salami packed… prosciutto packed… crackers, olives, and grapes packed…. and most importantly wine packed, and we can kill two birds with one stone. The boys can wet a line….

… Gaenor and I can snack away and sip wine whilst watching the sunset over the water. Perfect!

Amazing how whenever you go fishing, you can’t seem to get away from the gannets that hover around stealing your cheese and crackers! :)

Dad! Dad! I’ve got one! I’ve got one! What an awesome moment… not only has Buzz caught his first fish on his new reel, he’s also caught his first fish on soft-plastics! Well done mate…. :)

… and one hour later …. he’s still grinning from ear to ear and ready to enjoy some of his freshly caught flathead.

Another great trip to Noosa, and more great memories for us to look back on.

Stay safe and tight lines….
